HiBot ACM-R5 at home in the water

curated by | November 26, 2012

This snake robot, from the Japanese company HiBot, may be a little clumsy on solid ground, but, once in motion underwater, it glides gracefully, moving very much like living snakes. Gizmodo expresses concern that such a robot might be used for ill, but I think it’s just as easy to imagine it helping to save lives in a disaster involving flooding.
