Martin Haegele is Head of Department Robots and Assistive Systems at Fraunhofer Institute of Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA in Stuttgart/Germany. He is among other things responsible for R&D and Innovation strategy in robotics and automation, for acquisition of industrial R&D projects and publicly funded projects/initiatives and for large-scale project management, e. g. the European SMErobotics initiative. He is member in the euRobotics aisbl Board of Directors, chairman of the Service Robotics Group at IFR and author of the annual World Robotics study published by IFR. In 2007, he obtained the Joseph-Engelberger-Award.
