Andres Gutierrez



Andres received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Vassar College in 2010. He moved to Pittsburgh, PA, and began work as an animal care technician at the University of Pittsburgh. Receiving certifications from the American Association of Lab Animal Sciences (AALAS) as a Assistant Lab Animal Technician, Lab Animal Technician, and Lab Animal Technologist over the course of two and a half years, he worked in animal care for three years before seeking another position. He is now a Research Specialist at the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Surgery Labs, focusing on platelet function in hemorrhagic shock, trauma and resuscitation research in animal and cell models.
