David is a practicing artist, musician and doctoral student at the MIT Media Lab. Prior to his academic research career, David worked in the computer animation for film industry for over ten years with a focus on developing procedural animation systems and production pipelines. His research endeavors include developing informal learning interventions using custom robots designed for children's free play as well as exploring pervasive gaming, co-developing alternative pedagogies and engaging in transdisciplinary artistic research. As a PhD candidate in the Tangible Media Group, David's current research focuses on extending animation techniques towards shaping new interaction paradigms for next generation, shape changing interfaces.
