ROSCon 2015 was held in Hamburg, Germany. Here’s a recap of the first videos posted on the OSRF blog.

At eight years old, ROS is growing faster than ever. We’re excited to see how brand new startups are taking advantage of ROS to develop useful, reliable robots. In 2015 alone, more than $150 million in VC funding was invested in businesses that use ROS. And that’s just the companies we are aware of.

This year’s ROSCon is nearly upon us and we will be livestreaming presentations free of charge, courtesy of Qualcomm, beginning 9:00 a.m. CEST, 2015, 12:00 a.m. PDT or 3:00 a.m. EDT on October 3, 2015. Check out the program here.

This video introduces TurtleBot 2, which was shown this past weekend at ROSCon 2012. TurtleBot 2, built around an iClebo Kobuki from Korean firm Yujin Robot, improves upon the original from Willow Garage. (Note that Sam Park, Executive Vice President of Yujin Robot, recently joined Brian Gerkey, Director of Open Source Development at Willow Garage, on the board of directors for the Open Source Robotics Foundation.)
