2012 Robotics H.S. Championships energize thousands

April 30, 2012

30,000+ fans, family, educators and industry leaders attended the 2012 FIRST Championship held in Atlanta, Georgia. More than 600 teams from 32 countries competed in the three levels of FIRST competitions.
One week earlier, in Anaheim, California, the 2012 VEX Robotics World Championship boasted similar-sized crowds and included top teams from over 230 VEX Robotics Competition tournaments which happened in cities around the world from May 2011 to March 2012.
Both events concluded months of design, construction, software development and competitions leading to the championship contests in Atlanta and Anaheim, all the while providing sports excitement with the rigors of science and technology.
