Fabio Bergamin studied biotechnology in Basel and Strassburg before doing a doctorate in immunology at the University of Bern. Since 2007, he has been working as freelance science journalist for the newspapers "Der Bund" in Bern and "Neue Zürcher Zeitung" in Zurich. He joined ETH Zurich's Corporate Communications at the end of 2011, working in the News and Media Relations team as a science editor.
