Last chance to register for QUT’s ‘Intro to Robotics’ MOOC

intro_to_robotics_QUT_edcastIntroduction to Robotics, taught by Professor Peter Corke of Queensland University of Technology, is an introduction to the exciting world of robotics and the mathematics and algorithms that underpin it. The course starts on 15th February 2015 and lasts for a duration of seven weeks. Registration is free.

By taking this course, students will develop an understanding of the representation of pose and motion, kinematics, dynamics and control. They’ll also be introduced to the variety of robots and the diversity of tasks to which this knowledge and skills can be applied, the role of robots in society, and associated ethical issues.

It’s considered beneficial to have knowledge of basic programming (either MATLAB or an object-oriented programming language) and some of the following areas of mathematics: vectors and spaces, matrices, and eigenvalues and eigenvectors. Students are offered three different ways to interact with the course, each of which have varying workloads.

Students are able to enroll in the course now by visiting the course site, which also has more information about the course and other requirements.
