“Google has just snapped up one of the most futuristic apps to come along in some time. Quest Visual, the maker of the incredible Word Lens app, posted on its website that it has been acquired by Google.”

While it’s not altogether obvious, you can think of this as one more robotics-related acquisition. What Quest Visual’s technology brings to the table is machine reading with sufficient comprehension for translation. Also, the ability to layer the translated text seamlessly over the same background as the original will be a nice addition to Google Glass.
