What if you could ride your own giant LEGO electric skateboard, make a synthesizer that you can play with a barcode reader, or build a strong robot dog based on the Boston Dynamics dog robot? Today sees the start of a new series of videos that focuses on James Bruton’s open source robot projects.

At Danfoss in Gråsten, the Danish Technological Institute (DTI) is testing, as part of a pilot project in the European robot network ROBOTT-NET, several robot technologies: Manipulation using force sensors, simpler separation of items and a 3D-printed three-in-one gripper for handling capacitors, nuts and a socket handle.

Applications from 166 companies spread across 12 European countries and myriads of exiting robotics ideas was the beginning of the EU-funded initiative ROBOTT-NET in 2016.

Three projects have made the final cut and received funding for a ROBOTT-NET pilot and even further development assistance.
